New Addition...

Hello family and friends! I am SO sorry that we have been out of touch with our blog. Our lives have been a complete whirlwind with house projects and guests and now...a new addition to the Vaught family! We are expecting our first baby at the beginning of December. We are completely overjoyed and excited to take on this new and challenging chapter in life. Once we get a great ultrasound photo I promise to post one up. We have posted what we have on facebook, so hopefully you have all seen those. I am currently 11 weeks along and really looking forward to starting my 2nd trimester. Luckily I have surpassed extreme sickness and have mostly just felt a little queasy here and there and have been fairly tired. I am noticing that as the days pass my energy is starting to boost! I have recieved a lot of questions about the baby room and if we have started it, what the theme is, etc. We have cleared out the room (conveniently right next to ours) and I am so thankful that I had moved the guest room across the hall and have it all painted and ready to decorate. We have a crib and 2 dressers and I am sure as time goes by I will keep finding little knick knacks to add! We have decided to go with a monkey theme since we both love monkies and wanted to have some sort of animal theme - so this will be perfect if we have a boy OR a girl! This is also the first grandbaby for our parents so they are going crazy with excitement. It's really nice to have something fun to look forward to. Next post I'll be sure to show an updated ultrasound photo and since I'm already showing maybe a few photos of myself! We hope everyone is doing well and we love to keep up with you on your blogs! xox

Chehalis Trip, Bathroom Decorating, and Card Making!

Well hello family and friends! I figured it has been a little bit since I have written. We have had a couple of things going on as of recently...Over a week ago Jeremiah and I flew up to Washington to have an "early Thanksgiving" with the Vaught family - so his parents thought! What really happened is that we surprised them by having family and friends over for some western themed fun! Melissa and Mallorie took on all the details and had Margie go and get her hair and makeup done and the boys took James to Cabella's for some boy time. They were told that we were going to have western themed family pictures...but they were wrooooong! I spent the morning helping decorate, organize and help with the food - really whatever the girls wanted me to do I wanted to make sure I was there to help! Here's a picture of some of us. From left to right is Seville and Carissa (sisters and Jeremiah's cousins), Melissa (Jeremiah's sister), me, Mallorie (Jeremiah's sister), Mallorie's future mother and father in law and her fiance Alex. :)

In between all of the fun stuff, I have been busy trying to get our house in order. This past weekend I finally finished our downstairs bath! I painted it a medium green and was a little shocked after I was done painting. It was very bold of me to go that bright since I usually stay more neutral, but after a few days the color seemed to tone down a little bit and I began to visualize what I wanted. I initially wanted an evergreen theme, and I ended up tastefully touching on it and I'm very happy with the outcome. We even have a room freshener that smelles like trees! I have hopes to remodel a bit - the shower, sink and flooring I would love to tile at some point, but that will be a ways down the road. Next I will be working on the upstairs guest bath which will be in light blue, greens, and browns. After that I will most likely move on to our bedroom. I'll be sure to continue posting our progress!

During my other spare time I am trying to keep up with my card making! I really enjoy it and it's really relaxing. Recently I made a couple of gifts for two of my girl friends. I thought I would share a couple of photos! I have also been working on wedding thank you's. I will post one next time - she hasn't sent them out yet, so I'll wait until she does and then I'll post!

Well, next up we have Mallorie and Alex coming to stay with us this weekend. Hopefully we can get some photos to post of our time together. At the end of October I have my friend Nichole and her sister Alicia heading down to stay with us for a long weekend - we will definitely have some photos that weekend since I hardly get to see my high school best friend! Looking forward to catching up soon....

San Francisco & Lake Tahoe Vacation

It seemed like vacation took FOREVER to get here, but as usual once it was here, it went way too fast. We have been sitting here going through photos of our trip over the past two weeks and wishing we were still there - our biggest worry would be what our next meal would be :)

We packed up the car and was able to give Kingston the back seat to himself so he could lay down during our long 9+ hour drive to San Francisco. The ride wasn't too shabby and I think what helped is that we were excited to just get there and relax. Boy were we in for a treat! Once we got there it wasn't hard to figure out how confused and probably scared Kingston was. He immediately noted his scent in our hotel room...several times. I can't tell you how many times I was down on my hands and knees scrubbing the carpet. Eventually he kinda got it. He realized it was a LONG walk to go potty so he did great at holding it after awhile. The morning of my friend Alicia's wedding Jeremiah and I were all set to leave and as soon as we shut the door Kingston started barking. It was a little bit stressful! I ended up going to the wedding ceremony and ate and as I finished up Jeremiah and Kingston arrived. Luckily there was a little park area for him to walk around so Jeremiah and I switched spots and I took the dog so he could grab some food and visit with friends. It all worked out just fine in the end! What a beautiful city San Francisco is - it's just too bad that we didn't get to see much of it. We promised each other that we would make a long weekend of it one day (minus the dog!). Here's a few photos of the wedding...

It was bittersweet leaving San Francisco. On the one hand, we were really bummed that we didn't get to see much of our friends or explore the city, but on the other hand we were thankful to go to a place where Kingston could run around and feel more comfortable. The drive to Lake Tahoe was cake compared to our drive to San Francisco! It took about 3 1/2 hours to get to our cabin. Jeremiah was SO excited as soon as we started seeing real trees and real water! He was snapping pictures like they were going out of style. I was cracking up! Once we found our destination we were just ecstatic as we pulled into the cabin cul-de-sac. The cabins were so cute! Here's a photo of them. Ours is the one with the blue car in front of it:

The first day or two were were lazy bums. I think the most we did was do our grocery shopping for the week! The first big thing we did was go into town to do some shopping. It was a town called Heavenly which was just minutes from our cabin and they had some really great shops! We found some goodies for ourselves along the way and then we spotted the gondola. Jeremiah suggested going on it and I am thinking "well, i guess we can but it might not be that fun". It was a blast, and I am SO glad that we took the time to go on it! We took SO many pictures, but here are a few for ya!

Of course we had a couple of beach days too! I wasn't really sure what to expect with Kingston since it was his first time at a lake. He was BEYOND excited! I made the mistake a couple of times letting him off his leash and he booked it down the beach - I was so worried he wouldn't come back. He was so curious about other people but he did play with some dogs and I could tell he was having a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to going to the beach a lot more with him!

I thing one of my most memorable days of our vacation was when we went on the Tahoe Queen which was a sunset dinner cruise! It was so awesome. We were both excited to get on a boat and see the lake from a different perspective. As we got on the boat we were seated and ate a yummy dinner and had dessert. We were actually in a hurry to get through dinner because we wanted to get up to the decks to see the view and take a lot of photos before it got dark. We took juuuuust a few. Be prepared for a photoshoot...

Phew! That was a lot...we took most of our photos that day. So we ended up driving up to Reno to see our friends Jared and Christy and their two little girls on Jeremiah's birthday. They were sweet enough to make dinner for us and Christy even made cupcakes for Jeremiah! We had such a great time catching up. On our last day we visited an art fair and we found some really great photos for our house. I'll be excited to post them up for you all to see soon! We decided that our last activity would be to go mini golfing which I hadn't done probably since I was in middle or high school! We had such a blast. We played for about 2 or 3 hours and 60 some holes. It was so much fun!

The drive from Tahoe to Vegas was pretty rough. I think we passed through 2 cities in the 9 hours of driving. There really wasn't much to look at, but it was SO nice to be next to each other and reflect on everything that we had just experienced. This vacation was SO important to me because our schedules conflict so much that we are lucky to have just a couple of hours together a day. So to be together non stop for a week was complete bliss to me. My wheels are already turning to plan on a getaway in the spring. I'd love to go somewhere else we've never been, but as long as we're together that's what really matters.

That's all for now! I've been really busy this past weekend putting up art and photos on the walls and am planning to begin painting our bathrooms this weekend. I'm so happy to see the house have a homey feel. I will be sure to post pictures of our progress next time!

welcome to our lives!!!

Wow, first entry! So please excuse me as we are just starting out. Any tips would be welcome! I plan to play around with this some more to get a better layout and add fun things! This kind of reminds me of the old myspace days except we get to completely start from scratch!

So here we are, July 2010. We have been married for 2 years now (holy cow time goes fast!) and still more in love then ever. Since our wedding we have really just been enjoying our life together as a couple. Next month we are planning a trip up to San Francisco for our friend Alicia and Andy's wedding and then we'll head over to Lake Tahoe where we will meet our friends Kirk Gibb and Jared and Christy Gibb and their two little girls. It will be our first vacation together without obligation since our honeymoon! We are both really excited. Jeremiah will be turning the big 3-0 so we want to celebrate in style and what better way then to celebrate on a lake! :)

Apart from our upcoming vacation we are REALLY enjoying this summer. The heat has reached over 110 degrees at this point and so I'm sure you can imagine most of our time is spent laying poolside! Kingston, our year old chocolate lab is especially enjoying his time in the pool :)

With that said, not to much time has been spent inside decorating our newly purchased home! We will plan to wait until fall. Here is a photo of the outside. Once we really begin to work on the interior projects we will post more pictures later this year!

Jeremiah is doing very well with his gigs. He is now working Sunday through Friday so he has Friday nights off and Saturdays off. This is amazing since we get a lot more time together! He loves what he does and that is part of what makes me SO proud of him! His band is called The JV Allstarz and they are a group of 3 including himself. They play reggae, classic rock and island music. Right now they are playing mostly on Freemont Street but he still has a gig out at Lake Las Vegas as well.

I'm doing well too! Coming up on 4 years at CB Richard Ellis. Time goes so fast! I'm working in management and so thankful that it pays the bills. What I enjoy more though is making cards - it's where my heart is really at and I'm trying to focus more of my down time on that again. I'll post some pictures of my projects next time around! :)
